Sue Beyer

After working as a graphic designer for over 10 years, I felt that I could no longer work in that particular industry. This has changed the focus of my creativity from design to a fine art point of view. I am finding that my design skills and experience are providing a solid foundation for my fine arts practice.

The question that fascinates me in particular is how people utilise objects to define themselves, how people purchase to escape reality and the concept of affluenza.Through various methods and mediums I am exploring these ideas by looking at opposing concepts of the 'conscious/informed' and 'unconscious/naive' choice. I am currently a enrolled as a full-time student at Queensland College of Art in Brisbane.
